Having triplets, and we need names!!!!

Hello... My husband, Tore (to-ree) and are expecting triplets in March and we are driving eachother nuts trying to decide on names. We don't know the sexes of any of the babies, but we would like their names to somehow connect to eachother (same first letter, same sound, same meaning, or A B C first initials (for baby A, B, and C in the womb)). Please give us your advice!!!

These are my ideas if we have 3 girls...Give me your honest opinion please!!

Armella Maisie

Brinly Meagan (Mee-gan)

Cassara Maggie

They all mean "Princess Pearl"

Thanks for your help!!!

I think you have a neat idea going on! I have twins and ended up with both girls names starting with S. Didn't happen on purpose though. One name is very traditional "Stephanie", the other is a name that I made up (and I'm sure someone else has too), "Shayden". Anyway . . .

Not seriously excited by the names, they just don't seem to flow . . . not even fn to mn for each. Of course, I'm sure many people (including my grandparents) don't care for my daughter's name, Shayden, either.

Here are some ideas for you:

Ashlyn

Bryn

Caitlyn

You've got the ABC thing going there AND all the names end in "yn".

Or

Taryn

Karyn

Maryn

All the names above end in "aryn".

Oh, a quick comment about the name Meagan. I'm never sure how to pronounce this name from person to person . . . Megan or Meegan. Would (maybe) be a big deal if it was a fn, but it's a mn so probably doesn't matter so much. However, used to have a penpal actually named Meegan! I always liked that.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Maybe your taste and mine are just too different, I don't know. I like where you are going with the A, B, C initials, but your names are unfamiliar to me, particularly Armella and Cassara. I do like Brinly somewhat, but I prefer the following;

Amelia Maisie

Brinsley Meagan

Cassandra Maggie

or better yet

Amelia Meagan

Brinsley Margaret

Cassandra Maisie

JMHO...I know these may not be your style at all if you're looking for *very* unusual FNs and you really want all three to have the same/similar meanings. I just feel that it would be a lot of extra work having to introduce three daughters and then correct people on pronouncing names that are very unfamiliar (Armella and Cassara especially). It is hard enough on most people to get triplets' names straight, much less three very unusual names.

BTW I like your MN choices a lot.

I think it's fine to have some connection in the names, but matchy matchy is too cutesy imho. My daughter is Margaret Anne, which means "pearl grace." She was named after family members, and goes by both Daisy and Maggie. Maggie and Maisie are both nicknames for Margaret, so they don't seem appropriate to me as given names. Armella makes me think of Caramello candy bars. Cassara makes me think of casaba melons. Brinley just sounds like a bad last name, and it means 'burnt wood,' not princess.

Here are some suggestions:

Zoe Anneliese (life/grace/god is perfection)

Yvette Bonita (archer/beautiful)

Xanthe Corinne (yellow/maiden)

Astrid (god-beauty)

Beatrice (happiness)

Carina (dear one)

Colors:

Fiona: white

Gwyn: white/fair

Xanthe: yellow

Bronwyn: fair/white breast

Blanche: white

Bianca: white

Violet: purple

Fiala: purple

Amber: amber

Cerise: red

Hazel: hazel

Kelly: green

Saffron: yellow

Ginger: orange/red

Scarlet: red/scarlet

Rose: rose

Rosa: rose

Ruairidh (Rory--boy's name): red

Wow, I am having a hard time coming up with one name. if it's 3 girls I've always liked names with the elle sound at the end. Isabel, Gabrielle, Ariel. Maybe Isaak and Iseaiah? It's hard to think up three similar complimentary names. Goodluck.

Thanks for all your suggestions, girls... My dh doesnt like my choices either, so I guess it's back to square one... Although, he did agree on the names Maisie and Brinly, Just not in the combinations I choose. As for possible boys names (as we dont know the sexes) we kind of like Achen (or Aiken), Adrien, and Brayden. The only problem is, none of these have any connection with eachother...lol. Keep sending any ideas you have please!!! They're all greatly appreciated

I like the idea of using the same meanings, too. My DD's name is Megan Joy, and I was pulling for Aliza May for DD#2 since it would have the same meaning, but DH vetoed it. Anyway, here are some of the names/meanings I found:

Joy:

Abigail

Aine

Aliza

Beatrice

Carol/Caroline/Carolyn (joyous song)

Jocelyn

Joy

Kalea

Marnina

Grace:

Annika

Charissa

Gianna

Grace

Karis

Keely

Linette

Nina

Good luck making a decision!

First of all, giving them matching names may seem cute to you now, but think about how they'll feel about it. They're triplets, but they'll be 3 seperate people. They are not a cute set, they are people. They are individuals. I don't think you should give them matching names.

As for the names you picked: I don't like any of them except Maggie. Brinly would be nice if you spelled it differently.

Now I'm gonna take this a step further...instead of SAME meanings, why not have the meanings of the names form a thought. For example,

Rafferty is Irish meaning 'rich, prosperous'

Thatcher is English meaning 'roof fixer'

Alston is Englsih meaining 'from the old manor'

Thus sons named Rafferty, Thatcher and Alston would mean 'rich, prosperous roof fixer from the old manor'

Belinda is Italian meaning 'beautiful'

Alysa is Greek meaning 'princess' *Watch the spelling...Alyssa has a different meaning.

Courtney is French meaning 'from the court'

Thus daughters named Belinda, Alysa and Courtney would mean 'beautiful princess from the court.' Also, just by chance: A, B, C

One more:

Charles is German meaning 'man'

Clifford is English meaning 'from a steep cliff'

Keaton is English meanign 'where the hawk flies'

So, Charles, Clifford and Keaton would mean 'man from a steep cliff where the hawk flies'

http://pregnancy.parenthood.com/babynames.html

That is a website that will let you look up by meaning. I typed in FROM and got TONS of 'from *somewhere*

Help or hinder?

Good luck finding that perfect name!
