I've seen this as a last name many times and as a first only in "Ferris Bueler's Day Off" so to me it should only be a boy's name. A girl could marry someone with Ferris as a surname and end up Ferris Ferris!

I think of it more as a girl name, but I prefer Farah, which sounds similar yet looks so much more femininine.

I've only seen Ferris as a fn in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," too, so I said boy's name although I guess it could be either.. I have seen Ferrin as a girl's first name.

Oops, I meant for the fourth option to be "cute for NEITHER." That's probably throwing the survey off quite a bit.

I see your point, but my name is Kelly and I dated someone with the last name Kelly. Thank goodness that didn't work out. So I think almost any nontraditional name could run into that problem. Morgan, Reilly, MacKenzie, etc. Of course, she could always keep their maiden name.

But thanks for your input!

My mother and best friend hate this name for a girl, but for some reason, I think it's so cute.
