I voted for Rosaleen Mae because it's straight-forward, unusual without trying so hard.

Over here, no one living so close to Gaelic speakers would say May-ev, it's MAYV, 1 syllable.

LOVE Evangeline (ever since "Lost") - nn Evie would be adorable! But, I'm not a big fan of Noelle - but LOVE Mae. How 'bout Evangeline Mae? Not sure if the combos are set in stone or not, but I like that the best.
Good luck!

I like the name Maeve. It is supposed to be pronounced with emphasis on the V, not like eve, the gaelic way to say it is MayV.

Thankyou for your help, I am actually from Ireland, and moved to Canada when I was 11 years old so I do know how the names are pronounced, and I would like my child to have a traditional name if we got the celtic/gaelic route. To clear up some pronounciation stuff, I guess I just was thinking differently in my head than the way that you all interperited it. Maeve, I know is one syllable, I was trying to express the "drawn-out-ness" of the V and the length of the vowell sound by saying it was May-Ev. I understand how that is confusing now that I look at it though. The way it is said, it is almost like the vowell dwindles before the V comes strong, if that makes sense. And I know that Catriona is pronounced katrina, obviously. But It's almost Cat-tree-uh-nah, so again, the vowell sound is held out (although I didn't indicate a pronounciation on my original post).

Thanks for your input, I thought I'd just clear those things up.

My real vote would be for Astrid (LOVE!LOVE!LOVE!) Rosaline (pronounced Rose-uh-Line--like Caroline).

I love the name Astrid, and it's so underused!

I voted for Catriona Gael... I adore Catriona and think it fits in with your children's names beautifully :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Astrid. I would have loved to use it but dh is not so adventurous and didn't really sound good with ds's more traditional name. Also LOVE Evangeline and Maeve, but so few people think of Astrid and I just think it's stunning AND goes with the other kids' names! How exciting. ;-) Alyson
