I voted for Shelby, not because I like the name better, but because then at least she won't have problems with people misspelling her name.

My vote was for Shelby, however it would have changed if the spelling was Kasey. I like that MUCH better than Kaycee.

Shelby is nms, but gives off a much better vibe than Kaycee. I have to say that the spelling Kaycee is way too cutesy. Casey would be better, although the name isn't ideal for a baby who is going to someday be a grown woman with a possible high powered career.

I prefer the spelling Cacey. I have to admit i'm biased, i loathe the name Shelby, which just reminds me of some teenage mother wearing a shell-suit/tracksuit, probably because where i come from all the Shelbys are like that. Then i think tortoise in a shell, shy, etc. But anyway i'm sure i just have an active imagination, there has to be a reason people like this name. My second bug is that it doesn't have any meaning, it's a surname, modernly invented as a first name, i'm all for meanings. Cacey means watchful/observant.

Thanks everyone for your input. I guess maybe I should have given the reason behind Kaycee and the spelling. I'm not into the crazy/cutesy spellings either. But my husband chose it because there is a town in Wyoming called Kaycee and spelled just like that. Our sons name is Cody. My husband has roots in Wyoming so we have considered keeping with the Wyoming idea.

But I appreciate the input. :)

Luckily we have several months to figure it out. :)
