It's not substantial enough for a full name, in my opinion. I would spell the nn Callie. The Ellie/Allie/Callie names seem to be the new thing!

Calla comes to mind first for me. Like the lily. It's elegant and can use Callie (or any of it's spellings) easily!

My cat's name is Callie. When I called the vet to make her first appointment the woman on the phone asked me if she was a calico. I answered that she was and the woman said, "That's the most popular name for calico cats in the country." I still like it for a person though.

What about the full name Calliope? I love it, and it sounds so lyrical. It's pronounced Cal-Eye-Oh-Pee with the emphasis on the "Eye" syllable. I don't mean to be condescending, but I know a little girl with this name (she's so cute), and people call her Cal-EE-Ope sometimes (though not often).

Then Calli or Callie could work as her nickname.

Callista could be a full name for Callie. I kind of like that.

I like the poster's suggestion of Calla- I do think that's lovely but in a way I think a nn for that is kind of unnecessary, since both Calla and Callie have 2 syllables...and Callie actually has MORE letters than Calla does, lol....

Sometimes what I think is nice is if you take a syllable from the first name and a syllable from the middle name and put them together to make a nn that you like. So for example:

Cassandra Leigh- ("ca" from Cassandra and "lee" from Leigh = Callie)

Carrisa Emmeline (again, the first name has the "ca" sound in it, the middle name has the "lee" sound)...

Just a thought...
best wishes to you!
