How the heck was I supposed to vote for just one. Good thing Logan was listed or I'd be still there pondering over your list. Logan's a great name, my little Logan is such a cutie and quite the charmer, too, lol. We call him Logie sometimes or Yogi Bear, lol. All the names you listed are great. The only one I'm not sure about is Ewan (as in eww-in?).

LOL Terra. I love your son's name too, obviously. ;) If Devanie had been a boy that was really the only name high on my list (dh wasn't sure, because we don't know any little Logan's but he knows one man who goes by Logan, his ln, so he wasn't sure if people would think it was just a surname, KWIM? ... but I know I could have named him anything if the US was wrong and he turned out a boy on labor day LOL).

Oh, and not exactly Ewan like "ewwww-in" (LOL), more like you-an. We also considered the spelling Euan but thought that might cause even more pronunciation problems, especially since most people have at least heard of Ewan McGregor and would know how to pronounce the W spelling.

Thanks for the input, btw! ;)

Have to agree with Terra---how was I supposed to choose when there were several on there that I love! Declan and Nolan are both on my list for this baby, so I had to go with one of those. I finally chose Nolan. But yet I think Kaitlyn, Devanie, and Declan sound really nice together as well.

Have you been doing what I have been doing since learning of your friends situation?? I have been thinking much more of *just in case* girl names now almost daily. The best part about it is that DH is finally coming around and actually LIKING my girl names! That should be a sign for sure that we are really having that boy because there is no way it could be that easy!

You have no idea Theresa! I posted my "just in case" list a few days before finding out about our friend's surprise little girl, but I wasn't taking it too seriously then. Now I keep thinking that if they can actually "see" something and think she was a boy, how much easier would it be for them to screw up a girl prediction for us?! Of course, our last two were indeed girls, but all of their ultrasounds were done at different hospitals, so I guess I can't base the accuracy on that! Argh! LOL

Luckily, since we already have two girls (and the "hand-me-downs" that go along with that LOL), a surprise boy would not involve a bunch of returning/exchanging things or even redecorating the nursery (since I went with dark blue and purple before we knew the sex, so it would work for either really). Just a quick dash to buy the poor little guy at least one boy outfit so he wouldn't have to wear pink his first day of life (hehe)! ;)

That's one of the reasons my list is still so long, too, because even though there are a few names dh isn't sure of (Logan might be too "last-namey," he's not sure about Lachlan but likes the nn Lach, etc.) I figure if I do go through labor and end up with a surprise I'll most likely get first pick of the names! LOL

Then my only problem would be trying to talk dh into baby #4 (in a few years LOL) without being able to use the "let's try just once more for a boy" excuse (when really it's just because I've always wanted four and he thinks he might be happy with three ... but I think I could talk him into it ;)!

Anyway, thanks for the input! :)

Since the votes seem so close on a few of the names, thought I'd post the others on the list (couldn't fit them all in the poll, of course, so the ones listed are those that I like best for a fn ... they could be paired with any of these mns):

Everett
Jude
Asher
Heath
Sawyer
Taggart

There are actually a few more as well, but since a lot of the names seem to end with the N sound I've tried not to put any more of those. Garrett, which is on the poll, could also be used as a mn with any of the N ending names. Oh, and Nathaniel could be used as a fn with any N ending mn too! LOL (see how much I've been thinking about this?) ;)

Thanks again for all the votes/responses! Any other suggestions are also welcome.

~Kelli

Edited to add: I'll also repost the first names listed in the poll for anyone who wants to reply with combos. ;)

Nathan/Nathaniel
Logan
Rowan
Declan
Owen
Ewan
Lachlan
Nolan
Garrett

Ok, here goes.

Heath Nathaniel
Logan Garrett (I do prefer Logan Ryley though ;), or how about Logan Wiley?)
Rowan Tavis, Oakley, Pierce, Kyler, Gregor (I didn't like any of your other mn's to go with Rowan)
Declan Sawyer
Owen Taggart
Jude Lachlan
Nolan Everett
Garrett Asher

I deleted Ewan cuz I don't like it. ;)
HTH!

Thanks, Terra. :)

Some close friends of ours have a little boy named Riley, so that's out for us (and Wiley is too coyote for me hehehe).

I do have Declan Sawyer and Nolan Everett on the list (really like both of those combos, btw!), and I've added Owen Taggart.

Thanks for the input and combos! Always appreciated! :)

You know I love your whole list, but I can't get past Kaitlyn, Devanie and Garrett. To me, it's THE combination. I don't know exactly what it is, but I love them together. I think it's because of the seven-letter thing making them look all symmetrical but also I've decided it has to do with the fact that they all have different endings (rather than two ending an "n" and one in "ie") and also with the fact that they are all Irish, yet slightly more mainstream Irish-American than a few of the others (like Declan and Rowan, which I LOVE. But they almost feel TOO Irish. If that makes any sense at all.)

In any case, you can't go wrong because they're all great. But Garrett is easily my favorite. Garrett Heath is my favorite combination, but I also really like Garrett Jude.

Thanks, Annie. Apparently the other board totally agrees with you, because last time I looked Garrett had about a dozen votes and the most any other name had was maybe 2 or 3 LOL (maybe I should do one poll without that option just to see what their second choice would be ;).

The only problem with that one is that I remember mentioning it to dh before we "knew" she was supposed to be a girl, and he didn't like the "Gary" association (something personal, although I can't remember what offhand LOL). He did like Jarrett, though (maybe the J - as in Jason LOL - is enough to lure him to that variation?). I just don't know. Maybe I need to add it back on the list? What do you think of Jarrett? Same appeal? Less so? Reasons? LOL I'm obsessing, I know. Thanks for humoring me though! :)

I don't like Jarrett nearly as much, simply because here in the heart of Nascar country, it reminds me Dale Jarrett the Nascar driver. Since I hate all things associated with Nascar, I'm not a fan.

Putting aside that association for a minute (or at least trying to ) I like it slightly less than Garrett because it doesn't feel as Irish (technically, I don't even think it is. I think it's a form of Jared which is...Hebrew?) and ... I don't know. I just don't. I don't dislike it. I just don't love it the way I love Garrett. I do understand the not liking Gary factor - I hate the name Gary. But I don't even associate the two names. I've known three Garretts - one now early 30s, one mid-20s,
