I am going to strongly discourage you from using this name, no matter what the spelling. It is so trendy and overused, I find it SO boring to hear and I am not the only one thinking this. If you'll go down to the "Rants & Raves" section of the board you will find a whole bunch of people complaining about Kailee/Kaylie/Kaylee/etc. and how horrible it is! The name is WAY too common, not to mention that there are so many similar names as well that are also popular (Kylee, Kyla, Kayla, Kyra, Katie, etc.) In fact, I remember one poster (can't remember what thread it was in) calling Kaylee the most useless name. Here is a list of more modern names that aren't so ridiculously trendy:
Sienna
Sierra
Taryn
Bridget
Riley
Emerson
Brynn
Lila/Lily
Jade
Shea
Darby
Darcy
Macy
Marissa
Eliana
Sophie

I agree with everything the first two posters said, so I won't repeat it. Long story short: cute name for a two year old, but really NOT a good name for a 40 year old woman who may be nominated for the Supreme Court or may become a member of the President's cabinet...or may become the President, for that matter. President Kaylie? Don't think so.

I think that Kaylie could be a cute nickname for Katherine or Kathleen or any number of other K names. Or C names, if you'd be agreeable to spelling it Caylee. Or even, like Mona said, a C or K first name with an A or L middle name: Catherine Ann, nn Caylee, or Catherine Leigh, nn Cayleigh...whatever. You get the picture.

Hey, I was just wondering what you decided to do with this....This is our top name right now...lol Kaylee Renee. I just figure, you have to use what you like regardless of what people say. Its good to get some feedback or suggestions, but in the end it will always be our own choice.

My kids names are all "trendy" or "too popular" or "DONT DO IT!!"

so, curious...are you choosing this name for your baby?

I'm going to go against my own advice and say go with Kaylee. My husband loves this name, and I like it a lot too. I understand the concerns about it being too trendy, and I actually leaned away from using it because of these very reasons. However, in the end, you have to go with what you love, and I think you'll regret it if you don't. For what it's worth, I don't know any little children named Kaylee, no matter how popular/trendy people claim the name is.

As for the spelling, I really like Kaylee the best. I did have a professor in college who went by Ceilidh, which is supposedly a traditional Gaelic social dance in Ireland and Scotland. If you want something a little more off the wall, you could go for that.

HTH!

My husband and I do not know what we are going to name her. We liked the name Kaylee and here on the southern Oregon coast I only know 1 Kaylee/Kaylie, so we didn't know exactly how trendy and popular it was. We thought about naming her Kailyn, kind of like Kaylee/Kaylie. We still have not decided. My husband's favorite name is actually Kierstin, which is starting to grow on me.....

Thanks for your opinion. I live in a small town so I really don't know a lot of the trendy names.

Cheers,
Julie

ooooh, Kierstin is really nice, and it is very underused IMO! Good luck!
