Which girl's name do you like best?
- Mary Ellen
- Mary Ellen (double name)
- Josephine Kay
- Emelia Elizabeth
- Eleanor Celeste
- Isabel Emelia
- Vivian Elizabeth
- Evelyn Elizabeth
- Margaret Kay nn Margo or Greta
- All are family names - please post reason(s) for choice. thanks!
You will be able to change your vote.

Mary Ellen (double name) - same as previous
Josephine Kay - LOVE Josephine, although Kay is a bit boring
Emelia Elizabeth - pretty, although I think Emelia Celeste would be better, so they both don't begin with E
Eleanor Celeste - flows beautifully, it got my vote. Both are gorgeous and they go well wonderfully
Isabel Emelia - prettty, although Isabel is really popular
Vivian Elizabeth - nice
Evelyn Elizabeth - pretty, I love the nn Evie
Margaret Kay nn Margo or Greta - LOVE Margaret nn Greta but don't love Kay as a mn... had it been Margaret nn Greta Celeste or Margaret Elizabeth it would have gotten my vote
That was really, really hard, but I ended up voting for Eleanor Celeste. This is simply because of my personal bias for the name Eleanor, though. I absolutely love it, and I think it pairs beautifully with Celeste. For first names, I also love Vivian, Isabel, and Margaret.
I'll just start at the top and move down:
Mary Ellen: I almost voted for Mary Ellen as a double name. I really, really like it. But the elegance and sophistication of Eleanor won me over. Mary Eleanor would be very pretty, and you could call her Mary Ellen.
Josephine Kay: Josephine is a name that I love in theory (because of Little Women), and I think it's a brilliant middle name, but I can't psych myself into it as a first name. I think, though, that on the right little girl, it could be perfect...as long as you don't call her Joey or Josey. I think it needs to be paired with something a little more fancy and frilly than Kay, though. From your list, Isabel or Celeste would work nicely.
Emilia Elizabeth: I don't like Emilia because it just looks like you misspelled Amelia. I know it's a family name, but there are better ones on your list. Elizabeth is nice, but in order for it to seem fresh, I'd rather see it as a first name. I think there are more exciting names on your list.
Eleanor Celeste: My pick. I would also like Eleanor with Isabel or Margaret for a middle name.
Isabel Emilia: I love that Isabel is a family name, but I would skip this one if you're at all worried about popularity. There are so many underused names on your list (i.e. Eleanor, Vivian, and Celeste) that I would wait for a while before I used this one. See above comments re: Emilia.
Vivian Elizabeth: I love Vivian. I especially love that she could be called Vivi. Great name. If it had been paired with a different middle name, this one would have rivaled Eleanor for my choice. I would prefer Isabel, Eleanor, Margaret, or Celeste for the middle name.
Evelyn Elizabeth: I have tried to get into Evelyn, but I just can't. I cannot picture an 8 month old with chubby cheeks named Evelyn, and I don't particularly like the nickname Evie. Plus, this one's getting fairly popular because of the whole Eva/Ava phenomenon, so I would skip it. It could be a great middle name, though.
Margaret Kay: I love Margaret, too. Again, because of Little Women. I'm not into Greta, though. Margo could be a very cute nickname, but my favorite would be Meg. Again, I'm also not into Kay. Kay just seems very 1950s, and it seems incomplete. I know it's a family name, but if you really want to use it, I'd go with Katherine or Kathleen.
Good luck! You have some great names here; let us know which one you pick!
I also voted for Eleanor Celeste, but I liked a lot of the other names listed at least as much.
I really like Mary, Emelia and Vivian seperately (Margaret was close, but I'm not as into the nns listed, although Greta is cute). Evelyn is nice as well, but I'd prefer Vivian over it since they're similar in sound.
So to narrow the list, I'd mix and match the above names. Mary Eleanor would be great (was it your post I just suggested that in above? LOL).
HTH ;)

I chose Vivian. It's different and pretty and sounds nice with Elizabeth.
