These are all pretty good. Max and Weston seem a little trendy to me, but I like them all.

I voted for Simon Thomas, but I had to sort of close my eyes and pretend that whole "nn Sy" part wasn't really there. I love the name Simon, and with Iris, it's even better. They have many of the same sounds, so they complement one another nicely without being cutesy or matchy. Cut Sy. It sounds like some smarmy record producer's name or something. I love that Simon Thomas combines a family name with a name that honors a friend; it's perfect without the nickname.

Iris Rebecca: LOVE IT.

I am so glad that you like Simon. My family HATES the name Simon and the only way they like idea of the name is with the nn Sy. I don't have that strong of an opinion on Sy, but the nn Sy would just be for around the house, etc.

{insert huge sigh of relief}...no pun intended :-)

Sy is fine for an around-the-house nickname. After all, I am the girl who has admitted in the past that I would love to name little girls Madeleine and Cordelia so that I could call them Cookie and Dilly...but of course, only around the house. :-)

Simon Thomas, like I said before, is GREAT. I absolutely love it. There were no names on your list that stuck out as being "bad." In fact, I liked all of them. But, Simon Thomas stuck out to me as a great name among all the good names, and to me, that says a lot more. So often on these polls, I find myself choosing the "least bad" name instead of the name I actually prefer. With your poll, though, I actually had to think. There were several names on your list that I'd use myself in a heartbeat, especially if they had the family significance for me that they have for you.

And I'll say it again: Iris Rebecca is wonderful. Seriously, one of the best names I've seen mentioned on this board in a while. The perfect combination of uniqueness, familiarity, femininity, and strength. And it's a family name, to boot. We definitely have similar taste. I should share all my names with you and see what you think...
