I voted "It's ok". With sisters Hannah, Emma, Madelyn it almost seems as if you need something a bit stronger than Cole. Even Nicholas nn Cole would be better. Cole isn't horrible though, it just doesn't seem to fit perfectly.

I think this name works well with your daughters. Nicholas Andrew is a little more classic like your daughters names. Nick or Cole are both great nn for Nicholas.
Good luck,
Brooke
We don't want Andrew as the first name. That's my father-in-law's name. My dh likes it for a middle name only. I agree that Andrew Cole flows better, but since we won't actually call him by his FULL name, I figure it doesn't matter THAT much. LOL.

Funny - Drew was on our list too! I'm not TOO concerned aobut Cole fitting in PERFECTLY with my girl names. Afterall, they are siblings, but it's not like they are a unit of people who go everywhere and do everything together. I do tend to prefer more traditional names, so Cole is more on the "out there" side for me. My dh wanted names like Finn and Beck (which I personally couldn't stand!) so I felt Cole was a good compromise. Funny - but I'm not a huge fan of Nicholas. Go figure!

I actually prefer Cole to Nicholas as well. Cole Andrew doesn't have the best flow, but after reading your reasons for using it that's ignorable. ;)
A quick note on Finn and Beck (if they aren't off the table entirely) ... longer forms like Phineas, Finnian, Finley and Beckett may appeal more to you, and still give your dh the nns he loves. Just a thought!

Thanks for the input. I just CAN'T do Finn or Beck or even the longer versions. I know some people love those names (like my DH), but they just make me cringe. I really wanted Nathaniel (nn Nate) but he didn't like that. I also agree that Cole Andrew doesn't have the greatest flow to it, but I think Cole goes nicely with our last name which is similar to Johnson. I guess I tend to like very traditional names and dh doesn't. I think Cole was sort of a middle ground choice for us.
