that's like naming someone Katherine Kathleen - or Katelyn Katherine or Kaitlin Kathleen or Katrina Katerine or Katrina Kathleen - they are all forms of the same name
this is a definite no
would you name a kid Sadie Sarah, Maggie Margaret, Megan Margaret, Nicolette Nicole, Anneleise Ann, Bethany Elizabeth.
Katrina and Kate are all forms of Katherine
if you like Katrina, keep it, look for something else in the middle
I agree with the pp. I really like Katrina and Kate separately, but Katrina Kate as one name is too much. Kate/Katie could be a nn for Katrina, so IMO, it would be like naming your child Elizabeth Elle.
Stephanie
Separately, I like both names. Just don't like them together. Kate would be a nickname for Katrina in my mind.
Marla
At first I read this assuming Kate was the intended nn for Katrina (which makes perfect sense, Katrina being a form of Katherine and all LOL), but if that is meant to be the first name/middle name combo as the pp's mentioned then definitely not.
Either way, I had to vote that I disliked it. Katrina has become unequivocally linked to a national disaster and ensuing scandal, so as a name it seems a bit insensitive/tasteless at the present time, or at the very least ignorant of current events (the name, not the person using it ... not meant to offend here ). A simple search of the single term "Katrina" returns dozens of results, nearly all of which refer to the hurricane. Of the first eight pages -- that's 80 separate hits -- less than FIVE were unrelated to the natural disaster. And that's without including the actual words hurricane or disaster anywhere in the search. Just the name itself! Check it out ...

The name Katrina has unfortunately come to represent a terrible tragedy, at least for the time being. Do any similar names appeal? Katerina, Katia, Katrien/Catrin or Catriona, for example.

I like Katrina, and I like Kate. But together they seem to me like naming a baby:
Michael Mike,
Margaret Maggie, or
Samuel Sam.
So I would not use Katrina Kate. Personally, I would stick with Katrina and choose a different middle name. I like Katrina May, but hundreds of middle names would work with Katrina.
I like Kate
I dislike the 2 together
