I wanted to give a little extra info.
DH has vetoed Violet and Vanessa. I do not like Veronica or Victoria.
No particular reason for a 'V' name!
Possible sib names: Helena or Elena, Genevieve or Evelyn, Gwyneth, Tessa, Bridget, Susanna; Joseph, Hugh, Harrison, Xavier, Lennox, Charles, Beckett.
TIA,
Liz
Thanks belle_petite for the siggy!
My vote went to Vivian, but it could have just as easily been Vivienne or Viola. I just figured Vivian was simpler, while Vivienne is more "frilly" and Viola has more pronunciation issues (vee- or vie- ... you KWIM).
Valeria is my least favorite (reminds me of malaria).

I like Viola -- you don't see that often. I like the 'vie' pronunciation because I played the viola, so that pron. means the instrument to me.
I've never been a fan of Vivian - reminds me of vivisection. Likewise, Valeria sounds like malaria and Virginia has the whole virgin and state issue. Valerie just seems a bit dated.
Too bad Violet was vetoed - that's my favorite. How about Viveka, Verena, Verona, Venice, Vienna, Venetia, or Valentina?
My vote went to Virginia, but it could just as easily have gone to Vivienne or Vivian.
Valerie sounds very 1980s to me, and Valeria sounds like some sort of STD. Viola is an instrument...one with a lovely sound, yes, but not a great name. You may like Violetta (vee-oh-leh-tah). It seems to combine the sounds of Viola and Violet (but maybe your husband would nix Violetta, too?).
I prefer Vivian spelled Vivien (but that's just because of Vivien Leigh). Vivienne is also nice, but seems to change the pronunciation a little bit.
In the end, I chose Virginia because there are tons of great nickname possibilities, but the full name itself is sophisticated and professional for an adult. I love Vivi or Gigi or Ginny...or Genna.

I voted for Vivian because it's a great classic and goes with the current trend of using old-fashioned names.
I voted for Vivian, but also really like Evelyn (which you mentioned in your reply). I think both are classic, very feminine and will grow well with a little girl.
The only one I don't like from your list is Valeria - it just reminds me of malaria.
AJ, enjoying life with C.
Definitely Vivienne/Vivian (I voted Vivienne...I guess because I live in a french area...and well, it just looks more feminine)
Valeria sounds like a disease.
the others are ok...just not my choice.
