I think Sadie is very sweet as a nn, so voted "sounds great" (though I'm not sure if you intend to use it as the given name).
I always think the dog reference is hilarious, since Max is overwhelmingly popular AND the number one name for dogs. LOL In fact, I've known dozens of dogs named Max -- even owned one myself years ago -- but never once a Sadie. ;)

I voted that it sounds like a dog, because our friends and neighbors growing up had a dog named Sadie (a very nice dog, lol) and I can't get that out of my head. However, I do think it could be cute on a person, too. Valerie
I don't like Sadie, but not because it sounds like a dog or an old lady. It's the similarity to sadism and sadistic that makes me cringe. Sorry.
