Need a middle name for "Cate"

We think we've finally settled on a name for our DD due in August, but I'm at a complete loss for middle names that sound good with Cate. We have a long italian last name that starts with G. I don't feel necessary compelled to continue the "L" trend we have with our first two, it's more important to me to find the perfect name...

I'd love your suggestions!

DD Emily Lauren 10/31/99
Jaxon Luke 2/6/02

I do suggest using Caitlin nn Cate. I think Caitlin goes better with Emily and Jaxon and gives her more options. You can still call her Cate all the time. (I do really like this C- spelling!)

Cate Simone

Cate Lorelei

Cate Leanne

Cate Fiona

Cate Delaney

Cate Ainsley

Cate Marissa

Cate Evelyn

Cate Norah

Cate Amelia

I think Caitlin also works better with mn's in terms of flow.

Cate is nice, though I like Catherine nn Cate a bit better (and it's definitely got an easier flow with most mns), but here are some options(I really had trouble with this--most things just sound so frilly or odd after the quite abrupt Cate):

Cate Abigail
Cate Anastasia
Cate Eloise
Cate Genevieve
Cate Isabella
Cate Liliana
Cate Lydia
Cate Madeleine
Cate Matilda
Cate Rhiannon
Cate Scarlett
Cate Violet

I agree - this is a tough one! I'm not a big fan of Catherine (sorry - don't mean to offend anyone, but I know a Catherine that isn't a very nice person and has jaded the name for me a bit). I do like Caitlin, but DH and my DD don't - they like just "Cate", which now leaves the daunting task of finding a MN that flows. Cate is abrupt. If we went with Caitlin, we'd have so many more options!

I appreciate the suggestions, and if anyone else has some, please let me know!

Since you feel Cate sounds abrupt with many mns, you might actively seek out a longer one to sort of provide some balance.

You've probably already considered it, but Cathleen is another option.

Since your other kids' mns start with L:

Cate Lorelei
Cate Leanne
Cate Lenore
Cate Leticia
Cate Louise
Cate Lucinda
Cate Landry

Good luck!

Jazz, I must be seeing the pic in my peripheral, because I keep subconsciously reading all your posts in Brad Pitt's voice. LOL
