First of all, I would spell the name Clarissa... Clairissa looks like a typo to me.

Clairissa Annabel - Love Annabel, but since Clarissa ends in an "a" and Annabel begins with one, the flow isn't great
Clairissa Arianna - see Annabel, but this is even worse since Arianna ENDS in an "a" as well, and also Annabel has overall a more classy appeal
Clairissa Collette - I voted for this because it has the best flow, although Collette isn't really my style. Clarissa Corinne has a similar sound, but is less dated.
Clairissa Kaitlyn - I don't really like this spelling, prefer the classier (IMO) Caitlin. I don't love the alliteration though

None of the options really seem that great with Clarissa. Do you have any family names you could use?

I have to agree with Nikki.

Assuming "Clairissa" is a typo, I'd try to avoid a mn beginning or ending in A, since Clarissa ends in one (and will run into an A beginning, sounding like an awkward stutter, or seem very sing-songey if both end in A). I'd also avoid a mn beginning with a K sound like Clarissa's. Having grown up "Kelli K." I can speak from experience. I couldn't wait to change my name once I married. LOL

Clairissa is not a typo. We want to call her Claire. Our last name is really short and starts with an A. Someone said they liked Elise. What do you think of that?

You can spell it Clarissa, and still call her Clare/Claire.

My apologies. :(

It really does look like a typo, though, and the "iri" spelling looks really off. You know you don't have to change the spelling of the name in order to call her Claire, however. If you were using that logic, you'd have to spell it Claireissa ... NOT a suggestion, just pointing out that Clar- is already the proper beginning of the name -- and Clare a valid form of Claire, at that! --

Ditto to this--it's like getting Mike from Michael or Dave from David.

If you do not like Elise does anyone have any other ideas. Someone just gave me the idea for elise from here. And what would sound better with a short last name that starts with A. Clarissa, Claire, or Clarabel?

Hard to say which sounds best with your ln without actually knowing your ln, but in general, it seems Claire or Clarabel would work better than a-ending

We do not really have any names that mean anything to us to use. My husband does not like popular names. We did not name our son after anyone either. If i name her after somebody on my dh side of the family my mom will get mad cause i choose them..lol But my dh and i both like the nn claire. I could use just claire or use clarissa. My dh is the one who really likes the name Clairissa. But for mn we like something that sounds girly. Our sons name is Vincent Evan Theophilus, He has 2 middle names. So if you have any ideas let me know.

I definitely vote that you just use Claire. It's such a simple, beautiful name, and feels much stronger and more elegant (IMO) than the frilly Clarissa.

For mns with Claire, what about:

Claire Francesca
Claire Genevieve
Claire Isabella
Claire Johanna
Claire Josephine
Claire Liliana
Claire Madeleine
Claire Naomi
Claire Phoebe
Claire Quinn
Claire Rhiannon
Claire Savannah
Claire Scarlett
Claire Sophia
Claire Susannah
