Hi I am a lurker here, and i am due to have baby in about 2 weeks. still on the green team, so I have to have names picked for both sexes. this is what we have for a girl Jordyn Gail and for a boy we choose Jayson but cannot think of a middle name. Last name is King. Any Ideas????

I would use a family name or something with some type of significance to you.

But I have to warn you, for both names, I would use PROPER spellings!!! Jordyn and Jayson look trendy and misspelled where as Jordan and Jason and MUCH better. Especially with Jason, the added "y" makes it look as if you are trying to make it a unisex name and use it for a girl, as sticking random "y"s into names is a big trend in girls' names. I would definitely rethink that.

Jason Everett

Jason Elijah

Jason Isaiah

Jason Beckett

Jason Clark

Jason Quentin

Jason Gage

Jason Micah

Jason Leander

Jason Theodore

Jason Leo

Jason Silas

Jason Finley

Jason Oliver

I put off replying because I honestly had the same thought as Nikki (as I'm sure many do). I mean, you didn't spell your first son's name Jyesse. I'm not sure why the misspellings now.

Also, are you planning on using J names for any and all children, or is it just some odd coincidence that you have Jesse and are considering Jordan or Jason this time around? If it's a coincidence, bear in mind that you might feel painted into a corner, so to speak, if you should have any more children. For instance, you might decide you love Abigail (going off of Gail for lack of another indication of your style ) but feel like Jesse and Jason would just HAVE to be followed up with something like Jasmine or Jocelyn (all very similar, beginning with J and heavy on the S sounds, KWIM?). Jesse and Jason sound nearly identical when you call them out, if you haven't already done that "test." ;)

Just some things to consider.

As to mns, how did you come to use Ryan? Just a name you loved? Family name? Reflective of your heritage? You get the idea. If there's special meaning behind it, no matter what it is, I'd try to use something equally meaningful here. Now I don't think every mn has to necessarily be a family name, but if, say, you used Ryan because you're Irish, I'd specifically consider Irish mns for this child as well. Hopefully you KWIM.

There are millions of names that "sound good" with Jason ... after all, it's been popular for quite some time, so I'm sure everyone here could tell you the Jason combos of all those they know personally (my dh is Jason Anthony, btw, but I wouldn't recommend the repeating -on/An- sounds myself ... sorry MIL! LOL).

It'd be easier to suggest some mns with a more detailed background, in other words. ;)

I totally agree with what Kelli said. Jayson and Jesse are just too similar in my opinion, and I do not like the misspellings of Jordyn and Jayson. Jesse is a classic, but not too common name that is a GREAT choice. Your current 2 options just don't seem to live up.

Good luck,

Liz

I would look to family names, including your own, for a mn for any baby. Look at both fns & mns.

I agree about spelling it the traditional way. I knew a Jason Joseph and it seemed to flow well IMO.
