Soooooooo excited and happy. DH and I have "finally" committed to our DD's new name (My first thread is below somewhere in the "Girls" section which tells the whole story about how/why we are renaming our DD.).
Tess Samantha Lynn
There is a possibility of adding the "a" to Tess to become Tessa Samantha Lynn. I know, flow is not exactly right, but DH thinks it would be better to have the "a" there on the birth certificate and nn Tess...better than it not being there and somewhere down the road really wishing that it was (say, in the future, if she is always looking for keychains, pens, Xmax ornaments, etc., with her name but can only find Tessa and no Tess). She will be "Tess" to us and at school though. ANY opinions on that are appreciated!!!
Anyway, this is her name as it appears on the birth certificate now with Tess(a) added as the first name and Samantha Lynn will be moved to middle name status. What is your opinion on 2 middle names. I know it is becoming popular. We would not even be contemplating this but I was informed by my father that my mother was "very upset" that we were dropping the "Lynn" and changing the name to Tess Samantha (as "Lynn" is her middle name...mine too, and really DD was given this mn with me in mind...I just don't have the heart to tell my mother otherwise!!). It personally has no sentimental hold over me.
How do you fill forms out (school, doctor's office, etc.) from now on with 2 middle names involved?? We will always have to use "Samantha Lynn" as the middle name or can DH and I take it upon ourselves to shorten it on all of her forms to just "Samantha" as the mn (and just not tell my mother!!LOL!). TY guys once again for all of your help, support, and suggestions. I really appreciate them!
PS...To all of those who "voted" for the name Zelda...I really hate that we cannot use this name, but we decided that in our situation, it was just not going to work (especially after my mother's reaction). But, I promise, every time I see/hear that name for a child, I will smile and say a little prayer to my grandmother and think what a beautiful name for a little girl!
SO SORRY!!! Meant for this post to go above in "Announcements". No poll here...already done with decision-making!!
