oh, I think both the sound and the spelling seem too feminine for a boy. it doesn't seem a good matchup for Siena either - I have a granddaughter named Sienna.
At first glance I wasn't sure, I didn't dislike it, just haven't heard it before. But the more I say it the more I like it. It is similiar in feel to Aja of whom I know a few. I like it. You might need to specify how it is pronounced, the first couple of times teachers read it, but that's not a big deal. What sort of MN would you be looking at?
Arys William Arys Benjamin Arys Evander Arys Christoff Arys Christian Arys Jacob Arys John
There's a mom on the other naming board...she might post here too...that has a son named Arris, which I think she said was a clarified spelling of Arys (just for pronunciation,) so it doesn't seem too out-there for a boy to me. I rather like it!

I like the name a lot. I think it would work on a boy but I would spell it Arris. I think it would make it easier for people to pronounce and make the name more masculine. I think Arys is a nice spelling for a girl. I don't know if you know weather you're having a boy or a girl but I'd pic Arris for a boy and if it's a girl you could use Arys. I think the name could be used on eithe gender.
I like the name but at first glance, I would assume it was a girl because of the trends of using Y to make names more "feminine" and giving girls unisex names.

good luck though
