Rudy + ? = Great name

  • Rudy Marvin
  • Rudy Earl
  • Rudy Hill
  • Rudy Otto
  • Rudy {use something else entirely}
  • My father is Marvin Earl Hill (has always gone by Earl), and dh's dad is
  • Rudolph Otto. So obviously I'm wanting to honor either/both grampas.
  • Another of our sons has "Hill" as part of his mn ("Thornehill --
  • being another family name on my dad's side) but my maiden name is
  • Hill and part of me wants to use just this. Thoughts/opinions?

I have a few friends who used their maiden name as the mn for all of their kids.

I agree about Rudy as the given name reminding me of Rudy Huxtable. Rudolph nn Rudy reminds me of Valentino. ;-)

I would prefer Rudolph over Rudy, Rudy is a NN.

As for Middle Rudoph Earl is nice.

Good Luck

Thanks everyone! I just do not like the name Rudolph and can't see us giving it to a son. So I'm m pretty sure it would just be Rudy (f-i-l is never called Rudolph, just Rudy). Appreciate all your input!

They all seem kind of choppy - have you considered
Rudolph Hill and calling him Rudy -
i love all the family connections though...
Good Luck

I like Rudy Hill.

I don't think its necessary to use Rudolph if he is going to always be called Rudy. My name is Abby - just Abby- not Abigail, and I like it that way. No sense in having a lot of extra letters if you aren't going to use them :-)

I voted Rudy Earl, but I think Rudy Hill also sounds ok together. I think going with Rudy Earl, you'd want to make sure the initials don't spell anything unfortunate ;)

I chose Rudy Otto, because I'm partial to Germanic names.
