So, I've read everyone's opinions and ideas from the polls I previously posted. DH and I are pretty set on a girl name, but we still like so many boy names. Combos are hardest though, but we have a new idea...the first boy will get my maiden name as a middle name, while the first girl will get my middle name (which is my dad's, grandma's, and DH's mom's middle name as well). Let me know what you think.
Girl:
Victoria Lee R___ (Rory)
Rory Lee R___
Boy (alphabetically):
Aidan Tennant R___
Alfred Tennant R___
Arthur Tennant R___
Chase Tennant R___*
Connor Tennant R___*
Drake Tennant R___
Elliot Tennant R___*
Ethan Tennant R___
Evan Tennant R___
Finnegan Tennant R___ (Finn)*
Harold Tennant R___ (Harry)
Jude Tennant R___*
Liam Tennant R___*
Owen Tennant R___*
* our favorites right now
Thanks,
Tracy

I love Victoria nn Rory- so sweet! As for the boys, Elliot is my fave.

I like Victoria, nn Rory, best for a girl. Very cute nn!
From your boys list, I like Owen and Jude best.
If you want help eliminating on your boy name choices, you may want to remove Arthur and Connor, since their -r endings run into the R- beginning of your ln. Elliot and Tennant run together as well, sounding very much like Elia Tennant.
Hi Tracy -
For the girls - I love Victoria nn Rory :-)
and for the boys - I like:
Chase Tennant
Elliot Tennant
Drake Tennant
also like Archer Tennat - even though not on the list - it's close to Arthur.

I would definitely do Victoria with nn Rory - love it as a nn to it! Plus if she gets older and wants something different she has options (victoria, tori, rory, hopefully not vicki:)
For Boys:
Chase Tennant R___* - it is ok - not my fave though
Connor Tennant R___* - cute
Drake Tennant R___ - just nms - i have a friend with a son named drake and it just doesn't sound right (maybe its cause i grew up in des moines around drake university - so anytime i heard it as a name it was to a dog:)
Elliot Tennant R___* - I really like this name - Eli - but i agree with a previous post that with the mn it will run together Elliot Lee would work though too (and save your maiden name for a future child)
Evan Tennant R___ - kind of sounds rhymey with mn - not an exact rhyme i know:)
Finnegan Tennant R___ (Finn)* - love love love it
Harold Tennant R___ (Harry) - ok
Jude Tennant R___* - how long is your last name. if you last name is 2 + syllables than it works, but for some reason (even though the handsome Jude Law has a 1 syllable name) i just don't know if it works for short last names
Liam Tennant R___* - possible nn to William and then he has more options later in life as with Victoria
Owen Tennant R___* - ok
My favorites are Elliot Lee, Finnegan Tennant, and William Tennant
Good Luck!
When are you due?
Victoria Lee 100%
Elliot Tennant is my 1st choice.
But my other choices would depend on the amount of syllables in your last name and the last sound in the last name (ER, ON etc.)
These might be cool...
Asher
Liam
Owen
Evan
Ethan
Arthur
....
maybe Finnegan...I like the Finn part...not the gan part...
Thanks for all of the ideas. I didn't mean to mislead anyone; I've posted before about names, but I'm not pregnant yet. I am definitely a planner! I like to think about names way in advance so I'm sure I will still like them later. ;) We are actually going to try to have a baby next summer - in exactly 12 months because DH is still in school. He will be finishing up his doctorate by the time we have a baby, if all goes according to plan! I've actually been thinking about the names of my future children since I was about 5 years old. Anyway, I still have a year before we get serious, but ideas are always welcome. I am definitely set on using Lee and Tennant as middle names though!
Thanks,
Tracy
Good Luck to you (and always willing to help with opinions)
I love Rory for a girl and I never though to use it as a nn to Victoria ... thumbs up from me. I know that Lee is a family name but would you consider spelling it Leigh to make is more feminine next to Rory?
out of your boy names I like them in this order
Aidan
Owen
Ethan
Liam
Evan
Drake
Finnegan
Chase
Connor
I like Rory, but not really Victoria.
From your list, I absolutely love Elliot, Finnegan, Jude, Liam and Owen, but agree with a PP that Elliot Tennant doesn't sound right with the double-T sound.
You have great taste, btw!
