If you want to call him Eli, name him Eli. I tried the name your child one name and call child another, it just did not catch on. Even for people where it did catch on, they often gave up the nickname as they got older, like teens or such. Plus, it is a PITA when your formal name is one thing and you go by another. You never know which you are under. Are your medical records...etc school records, and so on..under Eli or Elliott. It will just be a lifelong problem. I think a lot of people voted for Elliott and call him Eli because they prefer Elliott. Not so much because they like the nickname idea. In theory, nicknames seem like a good idea, you sort of get your cake and get to eat it too. You get to have both names you liked..Eli and Elliott. But in the end, your child will only go by one.

I'm not sure it's wise to give a boy the initials "EVE," so I voted for Vaughn as the first name.
