Who would you name your child after? If you say yes then say who.
1: A fictional movie, TV, or book character? You could use just a first name or use their last name as a first. If you say yes then say who and what they are from.
2: A historical figure (little or well known - it doesn't matter). You could use just a first name or use their last name as a first. If you say yes then say who and who they were.
3: An Author. You could use just a first name or use their last name as a first. If you say yes then say who and what book they are known for.

Mara has been on my list a long time--Mara Jade is from the star wars universe. My daughter was very nearly Mara Jane, and I may yet use Mara someday.
I would love to name a son George and call him Geordi for a nickname.

Lots of these... from the Bible. My daughter is Hannah and my son is Peter (also his dad's name). Other future possibilities include Judah and Leah.
3. An author
I'll use Bible names again... how about Mark? For a girl, I'd really not be naming her after an author, but how about Virginia (Virginia Woolf... or my husband's late sister) or Pearl (Pearl Buck, who wrote The Good Earth, among other things).
