ah the endings change... that's taken me quite a bit of learning in German, like how the ending on a noun will change sometimes dependent on where it is in the sentence.
we're having a sort of warm-up, it's maybe in the 30s, but we haven't gotten warm enough & without snow for flowers to make a try yet

Yes, the endings of Finnish words bend/change. That is why it is such a difficult language. There are no prepositions, only case endings. I think there is something like 15-17 different case endings, but around 12 are most commonly used.
In fact, today we were going over how some numbers are pronounced... woah is me! LOL.(I can show you how they are written out if you want.)
With so much heat & humidity here it's verano. In spanish we say flor and it's feminine, which makes it la flor.
