My children live in where the neigbourhood school is a Spanish Immersion school so most of the kids are bilingual even if the parents aren't.

Somehow the first answer got cut off. Most of the kids in my neighbourhood are bilingual becuase of the Spanish immersion school so parents buy bilingual toys (or video game learning programs) knwoing htat by kindergarten their child will be in the school hearing a language they don't hear at home. When the neighbourhood kids were younger (preschool age) we used ot swap the various toys. Now that they are older it is mostly bilingual books and websites where they can play games.

I don't currently have any for my son, as much as I want them. Plus I have the issue that my son's 11; so many bilingual toys easily found in the US are targeted at the preschool/lower elementary crowd.

I buy my daughter bilingual toys and flashcards- but it's hard to find one that's english/german - I usually end up getting one that has french and spanish-
wish there was a way to customize.

it seems movies, music, and books is about the best I can do and without being fluent in German yet myself, I'm hesitant to buy always.
