Tortilla Curtain by TC Boyle

This book is about two men, one American and one an illegal immigrant. They meet in a freak accident. After that, their lives change. (Full synopsis here: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780140238280&itm=1

I really enjoyed this book for the most part. The characters grow and change so much in attitude and morals. It was interesting to see the illegal immigrant issue from both sides of the fence (so to speak). The only thing I didn't like was the ending because the author didn't answer all of my questions. If you don't mind unanswered questions, I recommend it. If you do mind, skip it. 3 out of 5 stars - for the ending.

I read this book a few years ago, and I remember really liking it. It challenged my belief system without being "preachy", and I enjoy books like that. I thought it had very good character development, too.

I see you are from Colorado! Me too!

Yes, I am in Colorado! Cool! It's always nice to meet people online from the same area. I really enjoyed the book. I agree with you about challenging your belief system without being preachy. I liked it; I just wanted more when it was done. LOL!

This sounds good to me. The review at B&N reminded me of the movie Crash. Have you seen it?
