This is by Jennifer Crusie. It was a good deal shorter than _Faking It_ and with somewhat less characters. I really enjoyed the book, though, and now a co-worker of mine is reading it and liking it too.
The book is about Lucy, who was recently stood up in divorce court by her ex-husband Bradley. At the urging of her she-devil sister Tina, Lucy sets out to be independent and purge herself of her creepy ex for good. Her plans go awry when someone shoots at her and a bad dye job makes her hair turn green.
Sexy cop Zach enters her life, saying he is looking for her ex who may be involved in an embezzlement sceme. He thinks Lucy is in danger, a fact which seems to come true when someone blows up Lucy's car. Zach takes residence in Lucy's Victorian home with her 3 silly dogs, and Lucy and Zach fight the urge to jump each other.
Getting Rid of Bradley is a fast, fun summer read with just enough sex, humor, and mystery to keep you entertained.
