When I tried to search for discussion on this, I gave up. Our search tool isn't specific enough.

I fell for all the red herrings in this book, even though I knew Patterson wouldn't use a dumb solution like multiple personality, and even though it seemed too easy. LOL. This was a good book, with a tragic ending for one pitiful character. It was published in 2005. I think I read that Alex Cross eventually goes back to practicing psychiatry, and the ending of this made it sound like this might be the time he does that. I haven't read any yet where he leaves law enforcement. I love the Cross books, and need to catch up.

This was not one of my favorites of the Cross books, the ending was kind of weak imo.

Cross does go back to practicing psychiatry, and is doing so in Cross and Double Cross. But of course, you know if the law calls him for a case he can't resist! ;o)
