I'd like to start a book box.

I've never done this before, so bear with me! I have several paperbacks (and even some hardcovers) that I could share. My understanding of a book box is that it's sort of a 'surprise package'. Am I right? I pack up some books. Send them to the first person on the list who takes out what they want and adds some of their own. That person sends it to the next person on the list who does the same. When the box comes back to me, I have new books! Do I have it right? Would anyone be interested? Let's see how many posts I get of interested people (any friends or family members want to be included?) I'll start collecting addresses if there's enough interest.

I have always been wondering how they work too. I'd be willing to participate if there is enough interest.

A book box, I love that idea, never heard of it but it sounds like fun, Count me in if you do it.

Jennifer, I have no qualms about sending a box to you -- if you don't mind sending it back to the States? You could be first on the list so it would be just you and me spending extra on postage. What do you say?

I'm also asking some of my IRL friends if they want to participate. Does anyone have a friend or family member who may want to participate, too?

Interest looks good. I think we can do this!

D'oh! I need your snail mail addresses! E-mail me at lukareATcomcastDOTnet. Please put 'Book Box' in the message line so I'll know who you are! I have plenty of addresses to compile -- there's still plenty of time if you want to participate. I'll come back and post when I send it out.

Okay, Jackie. I've wracked my brain and I cannot figure out what 'CYE' means! Can you fill me in?

I've also decided to start a new file in my address book for iVillage names/e-mails/addresses. Seems like a good idea!
