I always love to give books as gifts for anybody. I am giving my children 15 books for x-mas, some of them titles are Clifford the Big Red Dog, Dr. Suess books and many more. I give my Grandfather books every x-mas and his birthday and they are all mainly historical books of any era. I do not like anyone buying me books unless I specify what title and author and my hubby always seems to get it wrong, so instead I ask him for gift cards to the bookstores. I also donate books to the Toys for Tots in our town each year.

The only book I've bought has been for myself, and I got it today

I would love to give books as gifts but I don't have anyone to shop for. No one around me likes to read. Not enough to go and buy a book for. My mom will borrow one from me but never ends up reading it.

I love to give books and enjoy the challenge of choosing just the right one. Here's a few that appeared in this year's stockings.

for my 10yo granddaughter - Aquamarine by Alice Hoffman, one of my favorite authors

for my 6yo granddaughter - a beginnner's field guide to fishes for my precocious fact-seeker who loves to go fishing with her dad

for my 19yo daughter - A Wizard of Earthsea (The 1st in the Earthsea series) by Ursula K. Le Guin - A BIG HIT!

for my 13yo grandson - Red Planet by Robert Heinlein - ANOTHER BIG HIT!

for my serious scholar who only reads classics - an introduction to Stephanie Plum!
