Since February is now over, lets pick our best AND worst book of the month! Don't forget to tell us why you loved/hated it! :)

My favorite book this month was The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd. I thought it was touching and an easy read. The characters seemed to stay true to themselves throughout and I liked the resolution at the end, I didn't feel "cheated" as you do so many times in books.

My least favorite book this month was Pursuit of Happiness. I forced myself to read halfway through it and then just stopped. I didn't think he wrote well, and the story just didn't catch my attention the way I had hoped. Frankly I was bored. :(

I read The Mermaid Chair a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

I actually "read" The Secret Life of Bees as an audiobook about 3 years ago, and I loved it. So when I saw "Mermaid Chair" at the book store a few weeks ago, I just had to grab it and see if it measured up :)

My favorite read for February is Girl With The Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier.

Oh I LOVED Girl with the Pearl Earring! I read it in October I think, and it wasn't really the type of book I normally was into reading at the time, but it really broadened my view on books of that genre in general. Since then I've been reading more books like that, and I've been so pleasantly surprised!

My favorite for the month was "Sky Burial" by Xinran. It's a beautifully written story.

My least favorite was "The Ravenscar Dynasty" by Barbara Taylor Bradford. I did like the story and will probably continue on with the series as she writes it. However, I could have done without the blatant foreshadowing she kept using.

My fave of the month was a non-fiction book called The Devil in the White City...it had two intertwining stories - one about the 1892 World Fair in Chicago, the other about a serial killer who was "working" in the city at the time.
