How are the girls? Do they like their teachers? What about you? Are you teaching that communications class this semester?

Both girls came home in a pretty positive frame of mind - yay! They seem to like their teachers so far, and they have friends to eat lunch with, so that's a good place to start!

I was offered two classes this semester, but they were both at times when I'm unavailable. I agonized over turning them down - don't want to burn any bridges - but I really would have had to turn our lives upside down to make either class a possibility. I'm going to spend my "work" time this semester getting ready for the play I have to direct right after Christmas. I've got enough work to do on that to keep me plenty busy...unfortunately, we won't see the pay for it for many months....

Thanks for asking, Cindy. It's good to have friends to share the first week of school traumas with. I think long after the kids have grown up and I've retired from any kind of teaching, I'll probably still wake up with a stomach-ache on the first day of school.

Good Morning, Buddies!

CK: glad to hear that school is going well for the girls. I don't think it matters what grade you into, the 1st day can be hectic, traumatic and exhausting. Sorry to hear that you had to turn down teaching the classes.

Cindy: your bake sale items sound heavenly!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
