Lurker looking for support...

My story ... I've always been fighting the weight battle. About eight years ago, after two bad bouts of food poisoning, and a really horrific breakup with my 10 year SO, I lost over 60 pounds and was able to maintain my weight for several years. However, I met my DH five years ago and at the same time relocated out of state away from my family for a career opportunity. At that time I started slacking off of my exercise routine and began returning to some of my old bad eating habits (DH can eat anything and never gain weight!). The pounds started slowly adding up...
Two years ago I gave birth to my DS, and to my astonishment, I was able to lose "most" of my pregnancy weight and was back to my pre-pregancy weight within a few months after his birth... but still more than my goal weight. Now, the weight is starting to creep up again...
Running after a 2YO keeps me active, but I can never seem to find the time to really work out any more (excuses, excuses...). I've taken weight management classes which have really helped as I am not a big fan of diet fads, I am able to eat healthy during the day for the most part, but the night time binges are what is defeating me. I know that it is mostly habit, but like I said, I need a swift kick in the butt to get me in line! LOL!
I hope I can find the support and motivation here to get me started and keep me going. Sorry for rambling on and on... I look forward to getting to know everyone.

It really seems like running after a little one ought to burn off the pounds, doesn't it? I remember when mine were that young, and I couldn't figure out how I could spend my whole day running, bending, and lifting, and STILL need to exercise on top of it!
I'm glad you de-lurked! I think you'll find plenty of support here, and we always like making a new buddy. Just jump right in and start posting!

Well, it sounds like you know exactly what works for you, and now is just to do it. No, you don't need excuses. You DO need to question yourself on your choices (nighttime, especially). Ask yourself something like 'Do I want to eat this -insert food item here- more, or lose weight more?'. I guarantee that if you keep your choices this conscious, you'll find the success you're looking for. And get exercising! Schedule it in, wherever it fits, and follow through whether you want to or not. Do NOT let yourself off the hook or give yourself any excuses not to do what you really want to do!!
I don't know if this qualifies as a butt-kicking, but I hope you stick around and become part of our circle (sounds like we could learn a bunch from you, too!),
Hugs and best wishes in attaining your goal,
