Whew! What a night! Power went on and off several times, but as you can see, it's back now. There are pieces of trees all over our yard and whole trees in some yards surrounding us, but we're safe - PTL!

We did go down to the basement for a while, but we spent the night in our own beds. Dan and I stayed up until about 2:00, so we'd be ready to grab the kids and run back downstairs if things got wild. I slept half-dressed with the rest of my clothes laid out like a fireman, so I could jump up and into my jeans in one action...luckily that didn't become necessary.

The wind is still whipping around and there are lots of sirens going off this morning. I suppose with this wind, we're still in danger of losing power, so if I disappear, start chanting, okay? I'll start rigging up a running wheel on the side of the puter...the tricky part is going to be catching the squirrels to run in it.

I'm pooped but really grateful!

:o) - Karen

I'm glad you and your family suffered no damage - personal or property. Hurricanes can be scary things. (Hugo in S. Texas/Gloria in Rhode Island)

Take care and get some rest.

Hugs,

Wow! Scary stuff!! The joy of living near the sea, eh?

I am so glad you are all safe and sound, and I hope that the worst is done and over...

Big hugs,

Roni
