Good morning everyone. I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself and tell you a little about me.

My name is Cheryl. I'm 25 years old and I live in TN. I have to daughters, ages 2 (almost 3) and 8. I have been married for 3 years.

Let me take you through my weight loss adventures. First off let me say this...I have NO WILLPOWER. I have a problem dieting. The first step is to admit you have a problem, right? :) Anyway, I was 140 when I got pregnant with my first daughter. After she was born I got down to 170. This worked for me. I was happy. Then I got pregnant with my second daughter. After she was born I weighed 209. I was miserable. I started taking phentermine for about a year. I would still be taking it, but I can't afford it anymore. I lost about 30 pounds. I ended up gaining back about half of it...not too bad I don't think. Anyway, so here I am at 190, looking for 160. I don't know if I'll ever see it though.

I've started a die hard diet. I have cut back to about 1400 calories and started making myself exercise (big accomplishment for me).

I have started journaling, writing down everything. I heard that journaling and having a support group were two things that helped a lot of people lose weight. Let me just tell you that my husband is totally UNsupportive. It's sad I know. He tells me that I need to lose weight, but he has no faith in me that I can. That's why I'm here. I need some support and encouragement.

Like yesterday, I was so proud of myself. I had two brownies and I was DYING to eat one, but I gave them away to someone else just so I wouldn't eat them. He didn't understand what I was so proud of. "Because you didn't eat a brownie?" (sarcastically) I've also started walking almost every day. I figure a little at a time is better than trying to do it all at once.

Well, I'm gonna run for now, just wanted to stop in and say hello and let y'all know what's up with me. If anyone wants to know anything, just ask! I'll tell you anything...well, almost anything. lol

A big, warm welcome to you, Cheryl!! I know I'm a bit late, but I needed to let you know that you CAN do this, whether anyone else thinks you can or not (razzin' frazzin' husband of yours!!!LOL). Only YOU have to know you can, and to use the power you have to make changes for yourself! It sounds like you're doing just that, with lower calories, journalling, finding us (teehee) and especially EXERCISE! And you are completely fooling yourself if you think there is such a thing as willpower. There is only making a plan and sticking to it. Thinking consciously about the choices you make, and getting right back at it after any perceived flub. So if you have no willpower, no big deal!!! You DO have the ability to LOSE WEIGHT!!! We all do!!

I wish you all the best in your efforts, and look forward to hearing a lot more from you!!

Hugs, Roni (35, married 12 years, 9yo daughter, Alberta...approx. 40 pounds to lose)
