I sure could use a BUDDY!!!!

I have been struggling with this weight thing since I began having children 10 years ago in 1993. I have 3, after my 1st, it took me 3 years to lose it but gosh darn it I got my rear end back into a BIKINI! Well, then I had my daugther. I went diet CRAZY after I had her, did Atkins, cabbage soup, nearly ended up in the hospital starving myself, and lost all my weight except 7 pounds in 6 months.

I gain ALOT of weight while pregnant, I get soooo big, because I go on bedrest after the 3rd month I have VERY complicated pregnancies. Well, after my last little guy, who is now 3 years old, I continue and continue to struggle, to the point where my husband is like, honey what is up already, it was so easy for you before - you are letting yourself GO!!!! And you said you would NEVER do that (so in my mind I'm kicking him you know where, cause oh that SOOO helps, you know!!!).

I honestly believe if I have a few people where I can be accountable for what I eat and what excersise I do (I have started going to the gym again, they have FREE daycare, wooo hooo, time to myself, I telecommute from home full time job as a research analyst, writing reports all week) that I will eat better and lose faster and not 'sneak' the bad foods or 'eat emotionally' like I've started doing when I get mad, sad or angry.... if that makes any sense.

If anyone is interested, post here, or feel free to email me at cvdc123@yahoo.com - we could set up a group e-mail and do daily emails, check ins, weigh ins and such!

I am (blushing cause I don't admit this to ANYONE not even my husband, cause he'd have a cow maybe even a HERD) currently weighing 210 pounds (ahhhhhhh, I know) and I need to have to MUST get down to 145, as I am 5'6" and I was 145 when my rear was in that bikini (although, it may not be such a good idea anymore cause my tummy looks like a road map with the stretch marks, oh well, lets lose first then worry!!!)

Hi Christine,

I too am new I just posted my first message (on any message board) here last night. And I too could use a buddy.

Your story sounds sooo familliar I too was able to lose alot of my weight after my first pregnacy, my daughter....I wieghed 105 before pregnacy and 160 after delivery. Two years later I finally got down to 115. Kept it off until I became pregnant with my son. Both pregnancys had complications which but me on bed rest. Then boom I was back up this time 165. He's eight now, and I'm still struggling with my wieght...finally last year in November when I met my hubby, my weight was were I felt comfortable 125. (My last weight gain wasn't caused by a baby just emotional eating). Six months after our meeting we got married and two weeks later he suffered 4 strokes. We spent the last six months helping him recover and supporting him through surgery..he's recovered very well. But I looked at myself and found that I had gained 53# during it all. Now once again I'm on the route to losing weight and it just feels like it gets harder everytime, I suppose it's cos I'm getting older. And as far as stretch marks go...believe me I got them bad after my second, the stretch marks were stretching.. so I too would never be seen in a bikini...well, maybe we can wear those stylish ones that are high cut up the thieghs but go all the way up to our belly buttons, what do you think...a goal? ;)

Oh, talking about belly buttons...even after I lost the weight I put on with my son's pregnancy..I still had unsightly stretch marks so, (hope you don't think I'm crazy) I decided to get a tatoo around my belly button, I've had it for 2 years and love it...now when I look at my belly I see something beautiful instead of scars.

I know what you mean when you say you're struggling....I'm in the same boat with you and look forward to keeping in touch and supporting each other...the gals here sound really nice and motiviating. I'm not quite sure how all the postings work, like to keeping track of exerciese, water intake and so on but I'm willing to try...I think that too will motivate me. Here's my email address should you need to talk ASAP...cos' it doesn't look like these messages send you an alert that they have been posted so here it is magickhapns@aol.com.
