What plans have you made for Thanksgiving?
Finn and I are waiting on gas money to arrive in the mail, then we'll be driving down to my parents's house, about 2.5hrs if we avoid bad traffic. I'm guessing most "traditional" foods are on the menu. Turkey, mashed potatoes, etc. Since I fear that most of the vegetarian choices (since my mom's being hostile about my vegetarianism again) will be mostly carbs, I'm bringing a veggie pattie mix that I'm going to use to make veggie loaf for myself (and anyone brave enough in my meat-eating family to try, tho I expect my dad, at most, to try). I have like 3 or 4 different books to take for me to read while there. I'm not into football like my family and there's too much topics that need avoided to keep the family gathering peaceful. I'm a bit leary of the homeschooling talk since my uncle from Indiana and his family are coming up and I dno't think they've heard yet that Finn's homeschooled now, even tho we're going on 2 years in April lol.
I'm very thankful that I didn't loose my novel like I thought I did at first the other day. About 42.3K word ms that I just couldn't find and I wrote it back in '00/'01 so I don't think I could have recreated it if it had gone missing.
I'm thankful that I've finally come to terms with the term "unschooling" and I'm now comfortable using it, despite past comments on message boards that have made me feel I wasn't *qualified* to call Finn and I
Love and Light, JoelleHomeschooling mom to a 11yr old hydrogen molecule.
My roommate is going to be away, so my ex and our son are coming here.
Amanda & I will be going out of town.
My family, including my brother, will eat Thanksgiving dinner here at home.
Oh, Jo, I hope your visit goes better than you expect.
I'm glad you found your work, too.
I see why your ex doesn't prepare the meal...LOL
Have a safe trip, Faith!
You've got to be kidding.
I almost wrote ptomaine territory, but I didn't want to be nasty.
My family will not be home this Thanksgiving. So it will be just me and the cats, unless of course I go over to a friends home. I will be working from 8-5pm Thursday, but we always have a potluck Thanksgiving feast at work. I will be baking mini banana bread loaves for the occasion.
I am most thankful for all of God's blessings this year. Even the trials we go through, which can only make us stronger.
Happy holidays and God bless all.Shari
