Hello - I'm new

Hi everyone,
My name is Laura, I"m a 21 year old (or will be on Monday- Yay!) university student from Montreal, Canada. Can I join your buddy group? here's my background
In highschool I played basketball 10 months of the year on a team, we practiced hard 4 days a week at this time I weighed about 135 (I'm 5'6). Since comming to university I haven't worked out at all, and my eating habits have slid. I can honestly count the number of fruits and vegetables I've eaten in the last 8 months, not counting juices, I'd say the total stands at less then ten servings (and you thought you used to be unhealthy!). Anyways, long story short, I now weigh about 155. And I hate it. I'm ready to make a committment to change and was hoping you guys could help me stay motivated. I want to get back to my 2-years ago weight - hopefully by the time school starts in September (is this realistic?).
So here's what happened today. I got up, went shopping and bought myself a cute workout outfit (hey just cuz I'm sweating dosen't mean I shouldn't look cute right), I actaully ate salad for the first time in months, and for a snack had peaches. Then I went running and was totally ashamed of myself for being sooo out of shape - but I did it. And I made a committment to myself to do it everyday till september.
