Day off????? Not here ... working at home. For what is usually not a good day I fell into a rare window of opportunity. Boysenberries are at the fruit market. We only get the fresh good ones for less than a week. I'd called last week and was told they weren't expected till after the 1st week of June, they weren't there Thursday when I was there either. Just called and checked this morning, they started coming in on Saturday -- the stand usually runs a full page add when they come in. Every year that I've know Jeff I've tried to bake him either a Boysenberry Crisp or pie (his absolute favorite desserts (even above chocolate)) just to say thanks for all of the little things he does for me. I got the last two full flats they had. His crisp is about ready to go in the oven and most of the berries are clean, on trays and in the freezer for later packaging.

On the down side, I'm probably going to have a stomach ache and a half from eating berries.

have a wonderful rest of the day.

Awwwww, Jeff has got himself one heckuva woman! I don't think I've ever had a boysenberry, but the way you described what you were making, well, they could taste like chicken livers and my mouth would still be watering!LOL

Hope your tummy doesn't feel too bad,

Jeff was funny...he woke up to the smell of fresh baking. When I walked into the kitchen both Jeff and DeeOGee were standing in front of the stove intently watching the oven timer count down. He knew what was baking and already had a bowl and the ice cream out.

Of course I made enough for every one....would you like it with French Vanilla ice cream or freshly made whip cream (low calorie, fat and carb of course).

I did make two, I took one to his parents yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for the hugs yesterday...they were greatly appreciated!

The way you describe Jeff & DeeOGee is a hilarious visual!! Glad the whole household was happy for your boysenberry victory!

You've never had a Boysenberry? Maybe they are a California thing...they are a hybrid...a cross between Loganberry, blackberry and raspberry with a sweet but just a hint of tart taste (nothing at all like chicken livers).

Have a great rest of the day!
