Howdy!!

It's the first official morning of summer vacation!!!  Jolie cracked me up this morning.  She stayed in bed until about 9:00.  She wasn't sleeping.  She was just (in her words) "exercising my right to sleep late on the first day of summer vacation."  That kid's a trip.

I kind of disappeared yesterday.  I got so involved in President Reagan's funeral ceremonies.  I can't believe how emotional I got.  Nancy Reagan was just breaking my heart.

Have a peaceful, joy-filled weekend, Buddies!!

I watched it live too, here in California, from 5:15 to 8:15, with my windows and blinds wide open so I could feel the breeze and watch the sun set too as it was at the funeral. It made it feel more touching, and I too, was bawling. I felt so bad for Nancy, that she may be deprived of her farewell due to the media people being there. It had to be so hard to be able to leave her husband she loved so much, on a time schedule. I only hope and pray that she went back afterwards, and was able to say what she wanted to him, get her peace, and be happy with it.

Mrs. Reagan is so strong, and I'm sure she made her peace ages ago. Something I've just recently learned about Alzheimer's is that

Definately!

I lost my grandma years before she actually died from it. It was so hard, and I can imagine how hard it was for Nancy to do. My grandma lived with us, and we took care of her and my 3 year old sister, and I can't say there was much difference. It was very hard, and she had to be put in a home. Years later, my sister, who was 3 at the time grandma lived with us, worked at the same nursing home where grandma was, and she took care of her daily, until she passed away.

It's tragic how long they can linger. My heart really goes out to the caregivers, whether they are family or professionals. Geez, now I'm bawling here.

Both of my grandmothers were "gone" for years before they died - not from Alzheimers, but strokes.
