Eating healthy and exercise are the two keys to losing weight. I'm almost 54 and had open heart surgery in l991. Last September my weight was l97 and as of Monday I'm down to l49.4lbs. I follow a nutrition program and go to a trainer a couple days a week and workout at home. I too have two beautiful grandbabies and enjoy every day now that I am healthier and have so much energy.

We're all here for you and will help you in any way we can. Sandy

WELCOME to the Buddies Board! I am so glad you found us. It is never to late to do GREAT things for ourselves, and you sound like you are ready to give it a go. WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! No sense being upset, it's time to just get moving and making better choices. One step forward is all you can take at any given time, you just have to not settle for standing still and doing nothing...right??

How to start: consult your doc about exercise, and then start slowly on his advice. Do you know what kinds of food changes you need to make?

Make a plan and stick to it. Go for a walk whenever you can, as often as you can. Even if it is only 10 minutes, whatever you can push yourself to do the first time out. More activity will give you energy and positive feelings to keep going. How old are your grandkids? Could they be involved somehow in getting granny active? Trips to the park, walks, ANY kind of activity?

I hope you find the kind of support you need here, and come back and jump right in. I look forward to travelling this road with you and in sharing our successes! hugs,
