GOOD TUESDAY MORNING, BUDDIES!

Happy Loseday!  First of all, thank you to all of you that wished J a happy birthday.  She had a good day -- too much homework, but good otherwise.  What's wrong with these teachers anyway?  ;o)

So, the big question -- what do you want to lose today?  (Besides pounds of course.)

I want to lose huge portions.  I've found myself in the position of eating more food than I wanted several times lately because my eyes were too big for my stomach when I was serving myself.  Once I've got the food on my plate, I hate to stop -- even if I'm full!  So, today, I'm going to concentrate on putting a more sensible portion on my plate to start with and putting my fork down when I'm full - whether my plate is empty or not.

Let's have a lose-fest of a day!!

((((HUGS)))) - Karen

I made two very detailed schedules. One is an average week. in pencil I boxed the hours I can / should study. I used excel to put in everything that's manditory or regular. So like every Monday, wednesday, friday I eat lunch between 1-2. I left room for dinner, put in hour breaks every now and again, and even have things like cleaning written in. I have the hours of 6:00am to 10:30 pm sunday to saturday more or less sketched out. Below each day I've written the number of hours total that I can/should study - and it comes to 28 total hours per week. If you add in the hours I'm in class, I'm would be spending 41 hours - which makes sense since I'm a full time student, part time job.

I have a second schedule that is a semester over view, it has all my tests, major projects, and homework written on it. The boxes are small so I put things like homework and reading into a sepret agenda that sits with my books. On this I write a little number in each box. The number of hours I've studied. No one else knows what the numbers, mean but I know whether or not I've it the mark.

For example I should/can study for 5 hours today - and that still gives me some free time, dinner, etc. I sort of failed, because I only studied 2.5 hours. My goal is to hit the numbers I'm planning for. And since this is a new thing, I'm hoping to just get close right now, or at least put in some effort. I figure I'll treat it like losing wieght. In the begining I was writing down my weight every day so that I kept it constantly in my mind, along with % body fat. Then I was realizing I need to not excessively eat, or work out more to get changes in that number.

I'll tell you if this method works for me - I've tried alot of them, but I think I just need to build the habit when it all comes down to it in the end.

Are you doing anything different?

Rain

A big, warm welcome to you, Melissa!! I am so glad you found us and are ready to make the changes you need to have weight-loss success.

I know a bunch of us (if not all) have struggled with excuses. The negativity thing is probably something many of us can relate to, too. BUT you can turn it around, though, one great choice after another, replacing each negative thought/action with something more positive and beneficial. Yes, it's hard to change old habits. Yes, sometimes it will feel disappointing and pointless. YES, there is effort involved. BUT every bit of it is WORTH IT!!!

How much weight do you want to lose? What is your plan to get there? Eating? Exercise? What are your ultimate goals that will come with weight loss?? Get your plan out in the open and start living by it. You have a ton of buddies here that will be with you, encouraging and doing it too....so what do you say?? Are you up for it??

I am looking forward to getting to know you and in sharing out successes together!

Hey Melissa,

I'm Rain and 20 years still. I'm in school, living in an appartment, and currently have a part time job. I'm involved in a few outside school activities, but like you I find I have no time. We don't have a gym at our appartment place, so I have to drive to the univiersity one - the buss takes too long and then it doesnt' take us right there. :-P

Enjoy the Simple.

Hello Rain!

I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my post; I was a bit afraid as to who actually reads and replies, and whether or not this would be effective.
