Pre-New Years Diet

Good afternoon, Everyone!

So, today I started a pre-New Years diet.  Not only did I start the much needed diet, but I did not weigh myself.  Crazy, huh?  Nah, I dont think so.  I have always started my (MANY) diets by weighing myself that first morning, then every week there after.  I never really considered how great I felt or how my clothes would fit me differently, all I cared about were the numbers on the scale.  This is the first time I'm going to (attempt) dieting without worrying about how much I weigh.

The reason for the pre-New Years diet is to get a head start on everyone else :) ... and this is my little girls first Christmas, so it would be nice to drop all the water weight and maybe an extra two lbs for all the Christmas pictures.  I have a little over 40lbs to lose, so the little bit of weight just before Christmas isn't much, but its definitely a start.

I saw this message board and knew this was exactly the motivation I need to make it through ALLLLL the Christmas goodies on the table (I have seven places to go to this year...whew) without eating everything that looks good to me.  I love reading the posts and all the replies and words of encouragment you give to each other.  Hopefully, you guys wont call me crazy like my family is doing right now for dieting at the worst part of the year.  Haha!

Happy Holidays!!

Welcome!

Making resolutions early? lol. I am kinda sorta dieting... not really... Right now I'm working on not-stress eating. If I can go back down to the weight I was two weeks ago and keep it till after the start of January, I'd be pretty happy.

I think noticing body changes is great, it's not always about the number. However, I personally, have to see the number to remember to not slide. I'll feel good, eat more, and gain weight, whoops. I haven't quite gotten the skill and drive down to go scale-less yet.

I hope you join in the converstaions so I can get to know you better. We have a holiday challenge going on... I'm really not sure what it is all about because this is my frist year on the board, but it looks fun to me. :-)

Enjoy the Simple.

Hey, Jennifer, I LOVE your plan of focusing on how you feel instead of that number on the scale. I have done that in the past, too, and it feels REALLY good when food and exercise are on track and you KNOW clothes are getting losser, you have more energy, etc.

Good luck in your efforts...let's be losers together!!!
