GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING, BUDDIES!
28
Wed, 12-03-2008 - 7:42am

Welcome to Walksday, Buddies!  Got your walking shoes on?  I hope so, because we have a walking mini-challenge today.  (Check out the Challenge Folder for details!)

I'm going to have to scoot -- class this morning, fuzzy robe, need a shower....my usual Wednesday morning routine. LOL

I shall return!  Later this afternoon, Elfo and I have some points to record!!

:o) - Karen

P.S.  Remember, tomorrow is the first day of the Water Rally.  I'll announce teams in the morning.  All you have to do is egg each other on, glug at least 80 ounces a day, and make sure you keep track of your 80+ days so you can report them at the end of the week!

Howdy buddies, Debbie Downer is in the building!

Prepare for venting...kinda.

Last night after class (which I think went miserably but my professor could tell I was very ill) I'm driving home and my car sounds weird. Oh great, flat tire. Being sick I figure Todd can fix it, I was close to home. Call him, he comes to rescue me. Goes to take off the tire, lug bolt breaks. Explains that stinks but freak accident, ok we'll try another, car will make it home with three bolts. Go to take another, same problem. Realized the people who fixed my car last week (and rotated the tires) really f'ed the tires. So I get it towed to that place. Don't get home until around 11pm. Wait, I think I included this in another post too...oh well, don't read that one, ok?

So they call Todd this morning asking about the problem and say that you know what, they charged me for the tire rotation but they never actually did it - nope, they're not responsible for breaking those...musta been the people who rotated them prior to that (which as I explained later was ALSO them...unless they didn't do it that time either.) Then they say that they warned me when I got my car fixed that the tires were undriveable but I insisted I didn't want new tires...HUH?!? I got my car fixed so that I could SAFELY drive to PA and back for turkey day. (And I praise the Good Lord that my tires did not have a blow out on that trip when it was snowing and the roads were slippery and packed full of cars! I actually got teary eyed today thinking of what could have been.) Basically a blow out is what I had, only going at 15 mph across campus, so not a big deal. So they charged me for work they didn't do and also failed to warn me that the thread-looking thing of my tire is showing in spots...I mean BEYOND bald!!

So on top of being uber dizzy and sick today (did I mention I fell in the bathroom this morning from being too dizzy?) I had to go complain about this. Thankfully, they couldn't argue much because the person who did the work and failed to warn me of the condition was fired earlier this week. So although they refused to accept that they were completely at fault, they are picking up the bill as though they are. So I'm paying for new tires and that's it. They are paying for the new lug nuts & bolts and ALL labor...and they even said they'd align the car for free, too. I didn't even have to mention I'm a law student with tons of lawyer friends - HAHA!

I did get frustrated though when the owner (trying to get us to pay for part of the labor) says "Well, it's not like you're destitute, I'm sure you can afford it." HUH?!? You don't know our financial situation!! Ugh! People and the things they say.

Anyways, car is being fixed, should be done tomorrow. I still feel beyond rotten. No exercise but I'm being VERY good with water and food. Lots of fruit and veg trying to kick this bug to the curb! And tonight I vow to get lots of sleep!

Todd warned me on the way to the car shop that he was going to pull that card for me if necessary! HAHA! I'm glad it wasn't necessary ;)

Thanks buddy...that hug helped...hopefully the smiley doesn't catch what I've got though.

I have no idea what's going on with me. Could be the flu. I don't enjoy going to the doc's though, so I will probably never know exactly what it is.

I am feeling a bit better right now, but probably only because I haven't gotten off the couch in over an hour. And that's a heroic stretch for me. I'm usually such a busy body - constantly moving and whatnot. I am hungry though, so I will have to venture out into the kitchen soon- HAHA!

I'm going to bed early tonight, regardless of what reading I do or don't finish. Tomorrow is the last day of class, so I won't feel too bad about not doing it =)
