Hi... my name is shana.  I am seriously trying to take off the weight while keeping my sanity.  I am a sahm of two with hubby who gets laid off every winter.  I also have 15 chickens to take care of.   I'm glad to find a board that will understand that doing everything is not the piece of cake I'd like to eat right now!  I am a carbo holic, trying to quit smoking... drinking is sounding good about now... just joking!!  Laughing and seeing others laugh is what warms me, so I hope stick around for a while.  And get to know you and hopefully burn some more fat off!!  Off to do house work!

Hi Shana! Welcome to the board!

I applaud you for throwing healthy eating on top of all the stress you must be dealing with already (not smoking, DH getting laid off, etc).

What are your plans for how to lose the weight? Eating healthier, exercise? I would try to focus on small changes you can stick to no matter what and build upon them as best you can. Start small, go from there, ya know?

I'm glad you've found the board. We've got a lot of nutty girls here so you'll fit right in ;) Lots of laughing going on in general. So I hope you stick around, too!

Oh, and I'm Gretal, 25, I live in NY with my DH and little zoo, and I go to school full time, work part time. =)

I've looked at my DH a few times in the past few years (tough ones, DH lost job, etc.) and said - Yep, I think it's time for me to develop a drinking problem.

Welcome to our buddy system, Shana, I am so happy you found us and decided to jump right in!

I had to laugh at "drinking is sounding good about now". LOL Boy, doesn't it feel like that could be the answer some days! But since we don't need the extra, empty calories, I prefer relieving stress through exercise. It really does work (if you don't have two little ones tangled around your legs).

Busy or not, every great choice you make to lose weight/gain health is WORTH IT! What kinds of changes are you making to ensure success? eating? Exercise? How much would you like to lose?

Welcome! I'm late, as usual! :)

My name is Dawn, SAHM to two precious monsters, LOL, Emily 3 1/2 and Aiden who just turned 2! We lived in S. California for 23 years and have moved back to Minnesota 3 years ago, after Emily was born. My DH and I were both born and mostly raised here. We've been married 17 years and that's about all I can think of right now.

I recently went from 208.5 pounds to 135 pounds but have put some of it back on. I am trying to get back to at least 150 and will try to get back down to 140 after that.

Again, welcome to the board!
