WELCOME aboard, Michelle, I am happy you found us and joined right in! I can get really into the bad habit of "special occasion" eating on a regular basis, too! But, at least you've recognized it and can make changes, right?
So, do you mind me asking about the specific changes you are making with eating? Exercising? Other?
I can promise one thing: we are a great bunch for encouraging and accountability....and if you kick our butts, we'll certainly return the favour!!
Good luck in your efforts! I look forward to getting to know you and in sharing our successes together (I also have approx. 35 pounds more to lose), Hugs,
Roni

Hi, Michelle!

Hi everyone and thanks so much for the warm welcome.
the biggest "strategy" that I have so far is portion control. My brain and tummy don't like to talk much so i usually end up way stuffed and feeling awful. With that, if i don't let myself get too hungry I tend to eat less (big surprise) so trying to eat something healthy every few hours. and last....water.
I used to always try to find a diet plan. I did body for life once and got down to the smallest I had been since middle school. (148) that was right before my wedding and uh yeah, gained that back. lol.
right now i just want to have more control and be disciplined i guess.
Tonight we had wheat pasta with tomato puree and lean ground beef. I had only one serving and then ran upstairs to go on the computer. :OP
can someone tell me why on earth i picked the week before Christmas to try to watch my weight?

"can someone tell me why on earth i picked the week before Christmas to try to watch my weight?"
LOL Maybe because when you do this during Christmas you will prove to yourself that you are capable, no matter what!
Portion control is HUGE for me, too. I have been "going hard" for about a month, ONLY having one serving of dinner (my downfall time of day), and have lost over 10lbs in the process (along with exercise), so I know it works.
Big hugs and KEEP GOIN'!!
