Hi ladies.  How's it going?

I am new to your message board but think it might be a missing link for me.  I need to lose about 30 pounds, most of which was gained in the last year.  I moved, almost a year ago, to a state I don't like and haven't made friends here.  It's been too easy to just stay in with my cats than motivate in the evenings to work out after work as it's one more alone activity.

I've recently been working out with a trainer twice a week and am starting to fill in with more workouts on my own.  Though I'm a horrible morning person, I've decided to shift my training and workouts to the morning as, at that time, I've noticed I have more energy (once I get going, which is TOUGH) and; it's morning, being alone at this gym isn't really a thought at that hour.

All that said, I'm hopefully happily going to be consistent and kick this weight's butt.  But I am happy to have a place I can check in - with workout buddies.

Thank you.  If anyone has any helpful tips or tricks, especially for getting one's butt out of bed, let me know.

Have a great day.

-Amy

Hi buddy! Welcome to the board!

I don't have any idea what tips or tricks will help you get outta bed - I hate it, too! I just try to motivate myself based on weighing in every day. I always want to get up and go weigh in - especially when I know I've been doing well - I wanna see that scale move! And that will usually get me up outta bed!

Hello, Amy! I just came back to the board after a multi-year hiatus. This board has always been "home" for me, and through the years I've popped in to say HEY, and have always been welcomed with open arms. THAT's amazing.

Kudos to you for getting a trainer! You are on the right track.

Hey Amy!!! Welcome to the board! It is great to hear from a new voice. It sounds like you are on the right track with the trainer and the exercise. Don't forget to focus on diet as well. Best of luck.

Welcome to the board, Amy, I'm glad you found us. The support, encouragement and accountability that exists here becasue of our wonderful circle of buddies really makes all the difference in staying on track, I find.

Congrats for getting a trainer and recognizing the need for exercise. I am a total morning person but find it difficult to get up and get at it. UNLESS I have all of my workout clothes set out at night, ready for me when I awake, plus water bottle, music cued up, etc. Then getting on the treadmill or popping in a dvd seems mindless. And when it becomes habit, it feels too good to stop. Action creates motivation...so just act!

I look forward to getting to know you and in sharing our successes together!! Happy new year and hugs,
