Are you ready? We're about to enter into a shiny, brand-new year! Have you been making plans already? Do you have a vision of yourself at the end of 2009? Where do you want to be? How do you want to feel? What do you want to accomplish?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I'm not really a resolutions person, but I think maybe it's about time I became one. There are some changes that I need to make, and I want to put them in writing.
1 - I want to get healthier. As I get older, I find that the extra weight I'm carrying makes me miserable in so many ways - aches and pains, lack of energy, and perhaps the worst - worries about my health.
2 - I want to continue my recovery from the big bomb that dropped on our lives when Dan lost his job. In many ways, things are improved, but I know I carry around a fear that something bad is going to happen any minute. It's tough to really enjoy anything when you're always worried that someone or something is going to snatch it away from you. I need to get back to trusting in God to make the best decisions for me.
3 - There are several events coming up in the next few years for which I'd like to look good as well as feel good. First is J's graduation from high school. Lots of pictures were taken when K graduated, and I'm not too thrilled with the way I looked in any of them. Next is my 50th birthday -- I reeeeeeeeeally want to be a fabulous 50 year old! After that comes K's graduation from college, and (if things continue the way they have been - yikes) potentially a wedding. I know the focus is supposed to be on the bride, but I'd still like to be one hot mother of the bride someday!
So, that's my thinking. I want to be a big ol' LOSER in 2009. I want to celebrate the next New Year's Eve feeling and looking good and basking in the glow of a major accomplishment!
Does anybuddy else have some "resolutions" they'd like to share? I'll help you get to your goals if you'll help me! Let's use our buddy power to make 2009 a fantastic year!

30 is just a number, and I can't wait to see what you make of it.

LOL My mom had the same feeling about Wayne and I. After we had been dating 3 weeks or so, she told me she wasn't going to buy new furniture (as she'd been planning), but instead was going to save her money. When I asked why, she said, "For the wedding". LOL She was right, I was married less than a year later.
Glad to hear L'il K is so happy!!
