Hi Everyone!
My name is Dee and I browse the iVillage boards all the time. This is the first time I am posting here tho! I have been a yo-yo dieter FOREVER, and frankly I am sick of it! I want to be able to lose the weight once and for all! I have tried many different diets, but the one I found works best for me is just following the Weight Watchers plan. It's pretty easy and I get enough to eat... so why can't I stick to it? Last year on the program, I had lost 20 pounds in about 12 weeks, but put half of it back on over the holidays. :(
I have a son with some special needs, (He was a 24 week preemie - weighed 15 ounces at birth) so I'm pretty sure I eat when I'm stressed. The thing is, I can recognize when I am about to do it... I just don't seem to know how to stop! Right now, I need to lose roughly 40 pounds. This would put me at a very healthy weight. I am not looking to be unrealistic in my goals, but I want to be comfortable in my own skin, you know?
I will keep reading and posting, and hopefully find some tips and ideas that will help me along my journey! Just wanted to say hi!

Hi, Dee, and welcome to the best buddy system you'll find anywhere! I, too, have yo-yo'd a lot, and am finally back in a downward direction. It's so hard to make good choices sometimes, but we have to keep trying. That's where this board and the buddies are really helpful: accountability. Instead of reaching for comfort in food, reach out to your buddies. Someone will always listen and encourage. And it feels SO GOOD not to give int to that stress-eating (it must be incredibly stressful with your son). "Comfortable in my own skin"...amen, sista!
I hope you find what you're looking for here and jump right in and become one of us. I look forward to getting to know you and in sharing our successes together! Hugs,

I hope you join in on the "Good _____ Morning" threads for that's where I lurk/post the most. I'm a stress eater as well, but I'm in college so my stress comes from classes vs family. I've found it's very hard to stress eat when you have no food, lol!
