Hello! Just starting

Hello all. From the looks of your posts, I have come to the right place. I am starting out (yet again! sigh!). I am so ashamed that I have let myself get to the point I'm at. I saw some pictures of myself taken over the holidays and I was totally grossed out. I have yo-yo'd for years, and am actually known as the "skinny" one in my family. My family health history is a big strike against me and I want desperately to get this weight off and get myself into shape! I have been feeling just horrible and sluggish and just plain sick and getting lots of anxiety attacks, which I want no part of! I need to lose 40 or 50 pounds. I took a walk outside on Saturday and then walked on the treadmill on Sunday - what a difference that treadmill was! I could barely do 30 minutes and only got the speed to 2.7 tops! I was pretty discouraged, but made myself get back on today and did another 30 minutes, but got it up to 3.0 and kept it there so I went a little further distance-wise. Still sweating like crazy even afterwards. I am embarrassed that 30 minutes on a treadmill and I only did 1.30 miles. I used to do the Walk Away the Pounds videos, which are GREAT, and I want to get back into those, but am nervous about doing too much at first, does that sound dumb? I got rid of all the junk food in the house & replaced it with fruits, veggies & only "healthy" stuff. I really want to make this stick this time around, and I need accountability with food & exercise to do that. So any insight, suggestions, ideas, etc. are greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Sounds like you are have a good start!
Hi and welcome. I just started back after a long time too. It's very supportive here. I too have gone up and down with my weight, and in December reached an all time high. As painful as it is to accept that, I've got no where to go but down. Take positive steps everyday, and you'll be on you way.
All the best,
Lisa
Welcome to the board!
I'm a yo-yo dieter, but I try to find new activities to do. You shouldn't be embaressed for doing something. In the fall I tried kick boxing. It took me a couple weeks before I got the hang of some of the moves. (I am REALLY not graceful, lol).

Welcome Beachnut,
I think it's safe to say we're all yo-yo dieters here.
