Hi. I'm new here. I have been dieting on and off my entire life it seems like. I had gained about I'll with my last pregnancy and lost it by doing the Atkins diet and while this worked wonderfully I got pregnant again and gained about 40 lbs because I was eating carbs. Needless to say I have had 2 mc and now am working out daily and trying to lose weight the old fashioned (hard as heck) "right" way. I've been wanting to eat the proper portions and have been working out daily on an elliptical. I started out basically barely able to get thru 5 minutes and now am up to 32 minutes (in 4 weeks) but the lbs just aren't moving. I'm so frustrated. I know everything I have read has said it takes your body 4-6 weeks to get used to this routine but jeeez. Anyway I found this board and you all seem so friendly and it would be nice to have some support. I hope you have room for one more.

Hi,
I'm new, too - just joined two weeks ago. Everyone here has been very supportive and helpful.
Increasing from 5 min to 32 min on the elliptical is great! You know that it's doing good things for your body, regardless of what the scale says. Your heart is getting stronger, your lungs more powerful, and you are burning calories. I've been working on making better food choices and portion control (counting calories) but haven't gotten back into an exercise routine yet. Now that I'm here spouting off the virtues of exercise I feel like a hypocrite, so you keep going on your elliptical and I'll get going on mine!
Best wishes,
Cindy
